Who said that epic and expansive fantasy RPGs had to have subpar gameplay? For as much as I absolutely adore games like Fallout 3, Mass Effect 2 and Skyrim, gameplay in those titles simply didn’t live up to the amazing standards set by their superb settings, narratives and quest structures. In Fallout 3, VATS was simply an excuse for its inherently clumsy combat, and for as much awe as Skyrim instilled in me, in-game fighting is sloppy. Good news, then, that Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning has come along.

Dont know if anyone else has ointced this but KoA Reckoning really reminds me of Sacred2 but with a 3rd person view instead of a top down one. That game also had generic quests and forgettable characters story but also a big world to explore and good loot drops. Both games also had colour-coded loot drops (white being basic, purple being high quality ect) KoA Reckoning is superior to Sacred2 but the two titles bear many similarities.
Maybe I haven’t put enough hours into this yet but I’m finnidg far too much talking and I’m just struggling to care about the story\characters.Leveling up and the different character classes is brilliant. Going to stick with this for that alone but I wish for more adventure and fewer mundane chats.
To find the greatest bang for your buck it’s extremely recommended to buy your footwear through sanctioned sellers.
Taking a pass on TOR. At least for a few months while I wait for the box price to plmmiut.I am very excited about Dawntide for next year I think. I saw a massively post that it just got revamped and is more twitch?Ok one last thought about next years games: Archeage we wont see this in the US in 2012 but we can all hope, Dominus looks great but may not be much of a sandbox but if the pvp and gameplay sound as fun as it looks this could be awesome, Reckoning hell yes, I cannot wait for this game, Planetside 2 is somehow close to release too and I am hoping that one is a blast.
